Hanoi, Vietnam – On November 10, 2024, during the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival, the “2024 Beijing Film Night – Beijing International Film Festival Hanoi Roadshow” made its dazzling debut in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In recent years, as neighboring countries sharing both geography and friendship, China and Vietnam have witnessed increasingly close cultural exchanges and strengthened collaboration in the field of cinema. The event was attended by representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the Hanoi Chinese Cultural Center, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, the Hanoi UNESCO Association, the Temple of Literature Cultural and Scientific Center, the Vietnam Tea Association, as well as filmmakers from various countries.
At the roadshow, a promotional video for the 2024 Beijing International Film Festival was screened, taking the audience on a journey through time to experience the warmth, brilliance, and artistic excellence of this cinematic extravaganza.
In his speech, Counselor Zheng Dawei from the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam highlighted that Chinese films and television works have become beloved favorites among Vietnamese audiences, reflecting the cultural connections and emotional ties between the two peoples. In 2025, China and Vietnam will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which will also be the “Year of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange.” Over the years, cultural exchanges between the two countries have borne fruitful results, building bridges of mutual understanding and shared civilization. Through the “2024 Beijing Film Night – Beijing International Film Festival Hanoi Roadshow,” the Beijing International Film Festival warmly invited Vietnamese filmmakers to participate in future editions, envisioning collaborative storytelling that showcases the strong bond between the two nations.
Li Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary-General of the BJIFF Organizing Committee, noted in his remarks that film is a universal language that connects hearts and minds. He expressed delight at the growing influence of the BJIFF, which has attracted an increasing number of diverse and outstanding films from around the world. Li emphasized his hope for more collaboration between Chinese and Vietnamese filmmakers, contributing beautiful cinematic creations to global audiences. He also viewed this event as a platform to further strengthen ties between the film industries of the two nations and foster deeper friendships between their peoples.
In recent years, the Hanoi Chinese Cultural Center has actively promoted high-caliber artistic performances, cultural exhibitions, and other activities, showcasing the unique charm of Chinese culture and facilitating deeper exchanges between China and Vietnam in the cultural domain. The center provided significant support for this event as well.
